As we look to Day 3 it is a fairly short read, but maybe one of the most important exercises we will walk through in this journey. Both passages of Scripture we were asked to review (Matthew 7:3–5 & Luke 18:9–14) warn about become indifferent or haughty about our sin. It is so much easier to deal with the sin of others rather than our own.
In the list of questions there were two that resonated the strongest with me:
- Is there any hint of pride in my life? I know personally this is a battle I have to engage on a daily basis. There is no place for pride in the life of a believer, but it has a tricky way of creeping in even when we guard against it.
- Have I refused to do something that I believe God has already told me to do? Sometimes it is not a matter of refusing but the difficulty and discipline required to accomplish the task. May God grant us a desire for obedience and the strength to follow through.
Remember this truth: Sure sin is things we do that we should not do, but often sin is things we SHOULD be doing but are not.
What is God teaching you in the journey? I would love to hear your thoughts and/or questions!
