Change Me: Day 26 of 28 (Week 4, Day 5)

The devotional today calls for a day of fasting. Maybe you did like me and set a dinner appointment earlier in the week forgetting today was the day we were called to fast. Let me encourage you to choose some form or fashion to fast. Fast from one or two meals, fast from social media, fast from television. Choose an activity that is a normal part of your day, fast from it today or at some point in the next few days and spend time with the Lord!

In the Daily Change Challenge we are reminded to focus on humility. May I challenge us to dwell on this word today and in the days ahead. I believe humility is a key toward revival. We recognize our dependence on God, we understand more clearly it is about Him and His glory and not our own. As we walk in humility we tend to complain about things less (because life is not primarily about us) and talk about Jesus more.

It also seems humility has been a common theme throughout this journey through the devotion but also in our Sunday morning messages. Maybe, just maybe, the Lord is trying to refine this key element in our walks with Him.

Take note of the words found in 1 Peter 5:5-7 and ask the Lord to humble our hearts:

Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”

Please add your thoughts (Respectfully)
