We can TRUST HIS WORD!! We are reminded in today’s devotion and bible reading we can trust the Word of God. The bible is reliable, authoritative, and sufficient!
Each one of us must decide whether we believe the Bible to be true. If we do not believe it to be truth, then why follow it? If we do believe it to be truth, then how can we not obey it?
We trust Scripture because of the reliability of the resurrection, the testimony of the earliest believers, the emergence of the church, and our own personal experience. We trust the Bible because it is accurate. There are those who will try to claim errors or contradictions, but the evidence of the Bible, its accuracy in prophetic predictions, the overwhelming evidence of early manuscripts, and the confirmation of the church for centuries affirm the trustworthiness of the Bible.
I wholeheartedly with all that is in me based on the evidence before my lifetime and in my lifetime, believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God. Therefore I wholeheartedly agree with Brother Horn:
- The Bible demands our attention.
- The Bible demands our acceptance.
- The Bible demands our obedience. (36)
The Psalmist in Psalm 119 recognized the value of God’s word and shared many truths about it. Two of these truths many of us learned in our childhood from VBS or other times when we said the pledge to the Bible:
Psalm 119:11 11 I have hid your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
Psalm 119:105 105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
