Change Me: Day 6 of 28

As we finish up week one, finish strong. Heading into the weekend you may have missed a day or two. Don’t get legalistic or beat yourself up but stay the course. If you are behind today do Day 6 today and then go back and catch up on the other days.

The IDEAL is to spend some time each day before the Lord, day by day walking with Him. If you missed yesterday pick it back up today. I’m not going to check your workbooks; this is between you and God.

Today’s devotion walks through the clear message of Scripture for the need of repentance. Repentance is essential for salvation:

Luke 13:5 “No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all perish as well.”

Repentance saturates the clear message of the Gospel throughout the New Testament from John the Baptist, to Jesus, and carried on by the Apostles and the early Church. It is necessary for salvation, it is necessary in our day to day walk with Jesus, it is necessary for the health of our testimony to others.

Steve Horn gives a very helpful definition of repentance: “Repentance is being convicted by Christ about sin in your life, confessing that sin as wrong, and living a changed life as the result of the conviction and the confession.” (18)

What has God shown us in these days? What have we done in response? How is He changing us?

Please add your thoughts (Respectfully)
