So we begin the journey! Each day of our 28 days I will post some personal thoughts here on the blog. I’ll send out reminders on Facebook and Twitter. As I worked through the introductory material and Week 1, Day 1 the following thoughts are loudest.
- I desire more of Jesus, revival if you will, but really what we define as revival should be the “Normal” day to day walk of the believer.
- This question hit home, “If revival was up to me (and thankfully, it is not), how likely would it be to happen.” (1)
The passage introduced from Isaiah gives us instruction on how we should walk through this journey:
Isaiah 66:2 2 My hand made all these things, and so they all came into being. This is the Lord’s declaration. I will look favorably on this kind of person: one who is humble, submissive in spirit, and trembles at my word.
I encourage you all to read, pray through, and sign the commitment found on page 1, it reads “I need and desire revival, To the best of my ability, I commit the next 28 days to work through this guide. God please search me and change me as You desire.” (1)
This commitment is between you and the Lord, no one else has to see it. But I want you all to know I am committing to you all as a body of East Leesville Baptist Church, that I am walking through this journey with you, together!
In today’s reading we learn the focus of week 1 is introspection. Asking the Lord to search us and show us anything that needs adjusting. Our focus passage of Scripture is introduced:
Psalm 139:23–24 23 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way.
I’m excited about this journey, please respond with any questions or thoughts you might have as we walk together these 28 days. If you would prefer to share thoughts or ask questions privately feel free to text or email.
