Nehemiah Journey: Day 31 of 52 (October 6, 2021)

Three weeks to go. What can God do in three weeks? There is really no limit to what God can accomplish in those who walk in obedience to Him. But for us to see what God can do we must spend time with Him in a personal relationship.

One frequent occurrence in the book and life of Nehemiah is prayer. Nehemiah was a man who spent time with God. I have never met a genuine believer who would say, “I really spend way too much time with God.” Most of us admit we need to spend more time communing with God. Let me encourage you with the reality that you CAN spend more time with God.

Is it possible one of the enemy’s greatest tools is keeping us too busy? I am becoming more convinced many believers stall in their spiritual growth because they are simply not spending time with Jesus. They do not have a personal quiet time, or rush through it way too quickly. If time with Jesus is going to happen we have to be intentional about it or other things will consume the time. We must have a plan!

What is your plan to spend time with Jesus today? Make an appointment with Jesus on a daily basis and spend time with Him. If you miss a day, just pick it back up the next day, but you need a plan. Plans get interrupted but an absence of a plan makes success much less likely. I had a pastor give me this advice, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” Determine a workable daily plan to spend time with Jesus and ask God to help you carry it through.
